Hello!

I’m Steph. I’m a designer who loves using my trusty Wacom to create images that move in both 2D and 3D space. Born in deepest, darkest Essex in the UK, I now live by the sea in the more sunnier climes of Australia.

Where I’ve come from...
Design background in print media. So I have a love of colour, typography and composition. For me, good design should communicate, tell a story. It’s a visual language that can cross all boundaries.

What changed...
Having been inspired by seeing graphics that also conveyed emotion through their movement I realised that this was the next step for me, making my designs move with meaning. Thanks to School of Motion’s exceptional courses I started down the Motion Design career path. Expanding my knowledge of After Effects and putting into practice the principles behind what makes for good animation. Further opportunities at the Industry leading media company that I worked for enabled me to hone these skills creating 2D and 3D pieces for their digital channels.

Where I’m going to...
Always learning new techniques and tips, I am currently exploring 3D characters in Cinema 4D and putting my previous ‘real world’ photoshoot experience to use with configuring lighting set ups in 3D space.

And the rest...
When I’m not wrestling with keyframes or trying to perfect my curves in graph editor, I like to get in the ocean. Swim or surf, both fulfill my need for my regular salt fix. Or I can be found curled up in a comfy chair, cup of tea in hand, imagination enthralled with my latest book/Film/TV series.

Thanks for reading...
Get in touch if you have a project you’d like to discuss, or you just want to connect over a common love for animation!

CLARIFICATION: Essex is actually an awesome place to live and only really dark in winter...like most places.
